Mango Lassi ~ Mango Yogurt Drink

Mango season is full on in India... and the market over here is flooded with various variety of mangoes, albeit at quite a price!!! Last year and this year, I was fortunate that umma traveled to India during this season and came back with more than half her luggage full of mangoes from our home. Alhamdulillah, we do have a few huge mango trees that give us supplies enough to make us fed up of mangoes by the time the season is about to end! Just a glimpse into what she bought along this time...

Even if she brings a lot, I somehow don't eat much. Maybe seeing too much of it kind of bogs down my interest. But when the consignment she brings gets almost towards the end, I crave to eat more but not much is available. And it happens year after year after year... maybe something is wrong with me... hmm....

Before the mango season runs away, just sharing a really refreshing drink that can cool you down during the summers. Just like I love mango shrikand, I love mango lassi as well - nothing beats the refreshed feeling...

Mango Lassi

1/2 cup yogurt
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1 tsp rose water
Chopped pistachios for garnishing

Method:

Blitz all the ingredients except the pistachios in a blender till smooth. Pour into a tall glass, top with pistachios and enjoy!

Notes:

You can replace water with milk to make it more richer, and use sugar instead of honey for sweetening. You can even add some nutmeg and cinnamon powders if you are feeling a bit adventurous!
