Another Ramadan arrives. Every Ramadan is a month of reflection - a reflection of how life has moved, how we have moved as a person on a whole basis. A reflection of our mental frame, our thought process, our basic attachments, our life in the true sense... Alhamdulillah, this is my third Ramadan as a blogger... I feel nice that I have been able to share a lot of information about this beautiful month during the last two years, and InShaAllah, I will try to share more as and when I come to know or read beautiful articles about this month. Yes, life has changed from that Ramadan into this one, but then I am telling myself that everything that happens, happens for good. It is difficult to stay positive all the time and there are times when I want to crib, then suddenly I remind myself of the good times I have had and life is not that bad as it all looks like, Alhamdulillah... A little Hadith that shares how important Ramadan is, as the fasting during this month is rewarded as per how much He is pleased with us for our deeds...
We are having a long Ramadan this time too, going upto 15 hours and 15 minutes approximately. With the temperatures scorching anywhere more than 40 degrees to as much as it can peak during the afternoons, having meals that totally fill you up becomes imperative during Suhoor time
. As much as I would be trying to put in healthier and filling meals without going overboard, getting the folks to eat a "meal" at 3:30 am is definitely not a joke. When Rasha fasts, she prefers a tall glass of milk with a few cookies to go with. This time, I am determined to stop the habit of having tea in the morning, as I feel it is not the best thing to have, especially when the chances of being dehydrated is really high. InShaAllah, so I am hoping to blitz more and have a mini-meal in the mornings. With my love for flaxseed, I am sure that this super filling smoothie is going to adorn our Suhoor tables much more than expected. Having powerhouse in the form of apple, banana and walnuts, this will ensure you stay full to the maximum time possible! Off to this awesome smoothie...
